La Junta is a small town
situated at KM 270 on the Carretera Austal, it owes
its name to the union of two rivers the Rio Palena
and Rosselot. The cool Andean climate given origin
to excellent lands for farming, sheepherding and
places rich in flora. With a population of a little
over 1000 inhabitants, it has basic medical services,
police station, telephones, Internet services, restaurants,
gas stations, supermarkets, and bed and breakfast.

best location to visit other nearby villages like:
Lago verde(green lake) due east is geographically
characterized by its Patagonian prairies. To the
south you have the small port village of Puyuhuapi
in the middle of a dense forest and mounds of snow
hanging from the cliffs. Puerto Chiten in due north
it has aerial, maritime, and road access. The Pacific
with spectacular virgin beaches is Raul Marin Balmaceda.
All this without mentioning the many lakes, rivers,
lagoons, bays and channels that you will see while
traveling these roods.
